Income. It's a touchy subject, right?
No one seems to like to talk about how much they make, and how they juggle all their commitments and responsibilities in this freelancing/VA world.
Don't panic - I'm not going to be talking about money today!
Today I want to show you how this income tracking tool I created in Microsoft Excel helps me stay across my business income. And why I still use it today!
And I'm doing it via this handy video I've put together...check it out!
No matter where you are at with your freelancer or VA journey, it's really important to keep track of your income.
As a business owner, you need to prepare for your tax obligations. The tax man isn't interested in seeing what you spent your money on, he wants you to have it to pay your bills!
Superannuation, for freelancers, is often an afterthought. Try reframing it to be investing in yourself, and preserving the lifestyle you are creating by running your business. Suddenly, it becomes much more important 😊
If you aren't in a position to take on accounting or cash management software, that's totally ok. But, there is no reason for you not to have a system in place to track what you are doing. Trust me, your accountant will love you for having all the information in one place! It's also really useful for the time when (if) you do move into some form of software, as you should always try and upload any historical data!
